Mr. and Mrs. Van Baaren:
"We have come to Second Home to get oriented in a second residence. We already know where we want it to me – namely the Gardameer. We’ve been going to Italy on holidays for years and can also speak Italian. This is the second time that we have visited Second Home. This time we received an invitation from an estate agent with whom we have had contact so we will be going to see him soon. Of course we are also looking at the other organisations with offer in Italy. We are really impressed with the fair so far. It is well put together and clearly divided into the various regions."

Mr. and Mrs. Van Nieuwenhuizen:
"This year is our second visit to Second Home. Last year was the first orientation and now it is a sort of update. We want to see what is currently for sale. We are focused on Austria, a beautiful cottage in the mountains. We are primarily looking for a place to ski but also somewhere we can go in the summers to walk and enjoy the nature. Our preference at the moment is Zell am See, a beautiful summer location as well with loads of water sport opportunities. In the first place we want to buy the house for our own enjoyment, but eventually we would also like to rent it out. Otherwise it would stand empty for a large part of the year, which would be a shame. The deciding factor for buying a second home is the area and the nature. We think that Second Home is a perfect opportunity to give more depth to our orientation process. By talking to various exhibitors you find out more about a particular location or specific project. We will be going home with a lot of new and valuable information."

Fleur Verschure:
"I think I’m here with very different reasons than most of the other visitors. I resigned from my job just two weeks ago. I was project manager at a company dealing in office furnishings. But at 26 years old I realized this wasn’t really what I wanted to be doing. I have completed a study in real estate and this is really where my passion lies! I really would like to live and work abroad. A friend told me about Second Home and that’s how I ended up here. I think it is a very interesting fair. You see that all of the people participating really have a passion for their profession and the regions where they offer homes – and I think that is just fantastic!"

Mr. and Mrs. Van der Laan:
"We are visiting Second Home for the first time and we are very satisfied. We are looking for a second home in Florida and we have been able to find what we were searching for – it’s perfect. Florida is a beautiful destination and now that the dollar is so low it’s the perfect opportunity to buy something there! We decided to come to Second Home because we came across the fair during our orientation process. We think that this is the largest fair in the area of second homes so we had to be here."

Mr. and Mrs. Segerink:
"We are visiting Second Home International to get initially oriented with a second residence abroad. We’ve only just arrived but we hope to gather information about the various destinations and projects. We are paying specific attention to Spain. Why? The guarantee of sun! We think it is a wonderful notion to have a second home to where we can ‘escape’ when the weather is bad here in the Netherlands. Additionally, the entire Spanish culture and way of life there appeals to us. But we’ll see. Perhaps today we will fall for a different destination entirely. The first impression of the fair is good – it looks very professional and well organised. We chose for Second Home International because we heard from others that it is a reliable fair that has existed for years. Trust in an organisation and what they have to offer is in first place for us when it comes to buying a second home."
