In the middle of the Netherlands, National Park De Utrechtse Heuvelrug cuts through the western and eastern Netherlands from north to south. EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug is located in the heart of this beautiful hilly nature reserve, near Maarn, which is the last authentic garden village in the Netherlands and is nominated for inclusion on the Unesco World Heritage List.

Another eye-catcher within walking distance of EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug is the boulder island in Zandgat Maarn: a sand excavation west of Maarnse Berg on behalf of the Dutch Railways.

Furthermore, not only Utrecht, but also Amersfoort with its beautiful city centre and famous zoo is a twenty-minute drive away. The immediate area is further enriched with numerous monuments such as Maarsbergen Castle in the village of the same name, Geerestein Castle and the coach house of Groenewoude Castle in Woudenberg, Doorn House and Moersbergen Castle in Doorn.

Also at Huis Doorn is the mausoleum of the last German Kaiser Wilhelm II. Also near Woudenberg is the 17-metre-high Pyramid of Austerlitz made by soldiers of Napoleon in 1804, with a stone obelisk from 1894 at the top.
