EuroParcs Kagerplassen

Peace, space and, above all, lots of water to swim in or enjoy during a boat trip. EuroParcs Kagerplassen represents the ideal holiday for those who love water.

Covering around 250 hectares, these lakes are a showcase for The Green Heart, which you can explore from the marina at the park to your very soul. However, the park is not only an attraction because you can moor and dock there by boat. It is also a great base from which to explore other harbours and the towns adjacent to them. The Kagerplassen are well connected in that respect, with harbours in Leiden, Lisse, Oude Wetering, Roelofarendsveen, Rijnsaterwoude, Sassenheim and Rijpwetering, among others.

EuroParcs Kagerplassen is just a short distance from Leiden, with its historic city centre and three main landmarks: the National Museum of Antiquities, the Hortus Botanicus and the Leiden Walls. Also beautiful: the Keukenhof, located less than twenty minutes from the park.

Or a day out with the children to Duinrell, which is just over a 15-minute drive away. Furthermore, half an hour’s drive away, in Alpen aan den Rijn, is Archeon, where you can witness life in the past live. This town is also home to the Avifauna bird park. Are you willing to drive a little further? Then visit Madurodam or theme park Drievliet in The Hague.

Amsterdam is also within easy reach of the park. Enjoy a trip through the canals, take the children to the Nemo Science Museum or visit one of the many atmospheric catering establishments in the capital.

Rotterdam is also a relatively short distance away. Explore this world port by boat Spido and ‘taste’ the vibrant city in the Market Hall, the Maritime Museum and the Koopgoot. Or opt for nature experiences in the city too with Blijdorp Zoo, known for its Amazonica butterfly greenhouse (where you will also find piranhas), Congo biotope (with the largest okapi courtyard in the world) and Oceanium 2.0 (where a series of aquariums simulate The Great Bariè reef).
