Schruns-Montafon-Vorarlberg
The cosy town of Schruns is located in a spacious valley at the foot of the Hochjoch, the most important mountain in the Silvretta Montafon area. In and around the cosy and well-organised centre, Schruns has around twenty hotels and restaurants, nice shops and several supermarkets. The town of Bludenz, with its beautiful historic centre, is only a 15-minute drive away.
From Schruns, two cable cars, the Hochjoch Bahn and the Zamang Bahn, go to the Kapell mountain station (1,850 m), from where various lifts provide access to the rest of the Silvretta Montafon ski area, up to an altitude of 2,400 metres. The area is suitable for beginners, advanced skiers and children. Thanks to the combination of the high altitude and modern snow cannons, winter sports are possible until spring. You can relax with a snack and a drink in one of the many mountain huts and restaurants. There is also plenty of après-ski fun to be had.
In spring and summer, Schruns is also a perfect base. Here you will find the Montafon Golf Club, a 9-hole golf course. One valley back, in the village of Brand, there is another beautiful 18-hole golf course for the real golf enthusiast. A 15-minute drive away is the authentic village of Gaschurn with a beautiful natural swimming pool called Mountain Beach. The villages of Gaschurn, Partenen, Gortipohl, St. Gallenkirch and Schruns are connected by ski, hiking and cycling routes.
