Location – distances
Pogonia is a small village set in a sheltered bay, with views across the clear waters of the Ionian Sea. Olive groves, vineyards, and pine trees run down toward the beach, and local tavernas, cafés, and a supermarket are all within walking distance.

The village is a five-minute drive from Paleros, a harbour town with a marina and a genuine, lived-in feel rather than mass tourism. The surrounding area is well placed for day trips, with Preveza, Syvota, and Parga all reachable by car. Because the bay is naturally protected, the sea stays calm here, which suits swimming, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, and other water sports.

Pogonia is also within half an hour of Lefkada, reached by bridge from the mainland. The island is known for its sailing culture and for some of the Ionian’s best-known beaches, with their white pebbles and turquoise water. Finally, Pogonia is close to Aktion, the International Airport of Preveza, offering connections to many European cities from Spring until the end of Autumn each year.
