Open your eyes. You see the pristine nature. Breathe the clean air. Taste the fresh water. Listen to the silence. Enjoy the warm summer and white winter. In Sweden, you experience each season more intensely. Invest in your own place, a second home in Sweden, and experience it for yourself.

Buying a house in Sweden: back to nature

How nice it is to rediscover nature. The peace, the quiet, the soft tones of the landscapes. In Sweden, it’s all there. And more because nature also means space and a sense of freedom. For clean air, without fine dust. For fresh water and clear light. For real seasons.

Important ingredients for feeling good. Is Sweden so popular for that reason? Perhaps it is. The fact is that we appreciate pure life more and more. Never before did so many Dutch people visit Sweden for holidays and city trips. And we seem to feel at home because a growing number of Dutch people are buying a second home there.

You are welcome

Sweden is politically stable and well organised. Part of the European Union but with its own currency. Easily and quickly accessible from the Netherlands. With excellent infrastructure and modern facilities. House prices there are also lower than in many other European countries. An ideal situation for investing in a second home. In doing so, you are welcome. Buying a plot or a house is easy. Purchase costs are low and the purchase is administratively quick. You can also turn to several Swedish banks for attractive financing.

Your new neighbours will also welcome you. The atmosphere is often informal, with lots of attention to each other. Ideal for getting acquainted and settling in quickly. After which your neighbours are happy to help you, even when you’re not around. Language is not a problem in this respect because almost everyone speaks English.

A big country, where to be

Look at the map and you’ll discover how big this country is. With big differences in landscape, climate and light hours. What can you select on. First, accessibility from the Netherlands. With Arlanda Airport just above Stockholm, the southern half of Sweden scores high. Easy to reach, even by car via Germany and Denmark.

Then climate and light. Looking for dry summers combined with cold winters and real snow? Then the far south is not ideal. Due to its maritime climate, summers are relatively wet and winters are also moderate. From the Oslo – Stockholm line, i.e. further north, we find the transition to a temperate continental climate. In Dalarna, it is drier and warmer, with endless summer days. In addition, you can enjoy the snow for a long time in winter, even in December it is light enough during the day.

The landscape here is just as attractive. With vast forests, wide rivers and charming villages. Complete with the famous red houses. Not for nothing do Swedes themselves call it ‘the real Sweden’. Towards the Norwegian border we find the first mountains, with famous winter sports resorts. For lovers, there are also larger cities, ideal for a day of shopping. Cherry on the cake is undoubtedly Lake Siljan. A tourist attraction and a guarantee for lots of lively activities.

Tällberg, on Lake Siljan

Perhaps not entirely by chance but you have now landed at our project in Tällberg. A lively village brimming with history and tradition. Traditionally the place where families from Stockholm have their second home. With excellent restaurants and attractive shops.
With its many hotels, it is also a lively place, with many international visitors. And yes, located by that famous Siljan lake.

Your day is quickly filled here. If you opt for sporty then a hike is always good. But also think about a round of golf on one of the many golf courses. Water sports on the lake. A day of skiing or mountain biking in the nearby mountains. Or a nice trip ice-skating? For enthusiasts, there are also plenty of opportunities for fishing and hunting in real nature.

Prefer to soak up culture? Enjoy all the outdoor events. Or visit the museums nearby, often in special places. Get inspired by the view and create your own art. You are certainly not the first. Tällberg is famous for the many artists who have worked in the village.

End your day on your own jetty by the lake. With the bonus of the famous sunset colouring the sky orange. Or take a sauna round and dive blushing in front of the fireplace. Eat out at your favourite restaurant. There are plenty of them and Sweden is at the top of culinary achievement.
